Completed in 2013, they were designed by artist Andy Scott and represent the mythological water spirits of Scottish
folklore, while also symbolising the role of horses in Scotland's industrial heritage, particularly in the transport of goods via canals.
The Kelpies are made of stainless steel and stand as a striking architectural and artistic landmark. Visitors can explore the
surrounding park, enjoy guided tours inside the sculptures, and learn about the history of the area and its connection to
Scotland's waterways. The Kelpies have gained international acclaim and have become a significant tourist attraction.
