The Duke of Sandringham's pistol shooting duel scene in Outlander was filmed at Hopetoun House. It's known to Outlander enthusiasts as Bellhurst Manor, the Duke's estate.
The house is located on the Hopetoun Estate, near Edinburgh. The scene was also filmed at the estate's stateroom. Step into the Red Drawing Room, where the opulent home of the Duke of Sandringham was meticulously recreated for Series 1.
